Wisdom teeth are usually the last teeth to come through the gums. Most people have 4 wisdom teeth; however some people may have less than 4, or sometimes none at all.
Often there is not enough room in our jaws for the presence of our wisdom teeth. Due to the lack of room, it can also make it very difficult to clean them. Food and bacteria can build up causing decay and gum infections. Wisdom teeth can also become impacted or wedged in a difficult position causing toothaches.
