On completing year 12 Dr Crawford studied Physical Education and Mathematics and was a teacher for 3 years until he decided to retire from competitive sport. He is a former Australian junior wrestling champion and has represented his native state of Victoria in Power lifting, and athletics. He was an all schools Victorian discus champion.
He has coached elite athletes to numerous national and international competitions but these days tries to look after himself and his family. He has 5 children.
Following his teaching degree and 3 years of teaching he returned to the University of Melbourne and duxed first year biological sciences. He decided to do dentistry and completed his undergraduate studies in 1989. Since graduation he embarked on further studies in orthodontics and later studied extensively in both minor oral surgery and implant surgery at Melbourne Uni, Sydney Uni and also the advanced implant program under professor Aidi Palti in Baden Baden in the beautiful Black Forest in Germany.
He moved to live in the macedon ranges in 1991 and established the current practise. He loves the family atmosphere of Gisborne and has completed 2000 orthodontic cases, almost 4000 implants and 5000 implant crowns and bridges. He continues to practise to this day. His hobbies are jazz guitar, art, cycling and gym and of course loud Hawaiian shirts !!
