Gisborne Dental Group is one of the few practices in the Macedon Ranges offering implant dentistry.
An implant is an artificial tooth root with an attached crown, which can be used to replace one or several missing teeth. It is made from titanium, and looks and functions just like a natural tooth. Implants are highly successful due to the fact that the implant becomes part of the jaw bone. One great advantage of implants are that they are free standing, so therefore you can leave the adjacent teeth alone, which is important if they are in good condition.
With advantages in materials, implant design and treatments, there are some new and exciting treatment possibilities. Software and computer imaging enables treatment to be planned well before your treatment starts. This means quicker, more predictable and successful treatment for the patient. It can be performed at our practice, with minimal post operative discomfort.
Dr Crawford has undertaken an extensive postgraduate program with the Straumann institute, who are providers of our implants.
